Welcome York People First 2000

York People First – Update Oct 2019.

As many of you will know in April this year our dear friend, colleague and supporter, Sandra Gilpin sadly passed away.  This was a great shock to us all, and has meant we have had to rethink and reorganise the way we run and do things, including moving out of our office in Clifton Moor.

However, although we have been a little bit quiet we have not closed York People First.  And in memory of Sandra’s commitment to disability rights and equality we intend to go on.

We have two projects on the go.  The first is a research project with the University of York.  This is looking at the experiences of and how things are for parents with learning difficulties.  The second is our People with Learning Difficulties User Parliaments, the next will be held in 5th Feb 2020.

We will provide further updates shortly, but if you want to get in touch please either email us - 'yorkpeoplefirst@talktalkbusiness.net' or call Stephen Lee Hodgkins on 07951050153 who will pass the message on to us.

Our postal address for the time being is;

York People First 2000, c/o Dr Katie Graham, Department of Social Policy and Social Work, University of York, York, YO10 5DD.

Many thanks – Trustees of York People First.
